4 reasons we should all keep a journal – so we’re giving a Color blind cards one away

Notting Hill Carnival’s Family Day

Taking place on Sunday August 30th and August 31st, the Notting Hill Carnival has been a linchpin of Ladbroke Grove’s history since 1964. Sunday is family/ children’s day, and if following the floats which begin and end at Canal Way W14 next to Sainsbury’s Car Park is too much effort, head to Powis Square for the World Music Stage. Calypso, soca and up and coming artists from other genres make this a great place for families to drink in the Caribbean vibes. www.thenottinghillcarnival.com

International Friendship Day

Today is the day earmarked to celebrate friendship, but we love the idea of extending friendship beyond those we know by doing something to put a smile on the face of a stranger who needs a lift.

On a rainy day, a Muslim man took off his shoes and socks and gave them to a barefoot bus passenger saying “you can take these. Don’t worry about me – I live close by and can walk.”

A passenger shared the pics on facebook causing the story to go viral.

Lets all pay it forward this week and celebrate friendship with our own acts of kindness.
